Digital Artifact Beta – Visual Effects (VFX) Reel

Digital Artifact Beta

My Digital Artifact has been on a very linear line since it’s conception. The main theme for my cinematic has been a house raid and helicopter crash rescue mission. Both taking place on the same map at roughly the same time. My DA has been on a slow start since I’ve been burnt out heavily on assignments from other subjects which had delayed the start of my project. But with that, all that is left for me to do is record and edit my footage. I have recorded some prototype footage for the Beta stage of the project but the footage recorded is of poor quality that is not up to the standard I expect of myself.

Scene 1 : – Building Raid
Scene 2 : – Helicopter Crash Rescue

Shown Above are my main 2 scenes that I’ve created. In my High School Certificate, I had followed the same concept of using 2 different Scenes to break up the action and provide a different perspective of warfare offense and defense during my HSC I received a band 5 with 87 out of 100 for the project.

Prototype Breaching Scene

Again above is a Scene that I scraped due to my losing interest in having it in the video and due to the length of the scene which slowed down the pace that is not needed in my cinematic reel. As seen in my youtube analytics, people tend to get bored of Arma 3 content so it’s good to keep it somewhat short around 30 seconds to 3 minutes depending on what kind of video you are making.

Rounding off with all my coding, scripting and scene building finished off and all that remains is the filming and recording. If all goes to plan my DA should be completed in the next week and a half just in time for the due date for the project.
